Pregnancy changes everything....
Your body changes. Your priorities change. Your relationship with yourself can change too. And while there are so many beautiful moments during pregnancy, it can also be a time when you don't always feel completely comfortable in your body. You might feel amazing one day and exhausted and uncomfortable the next. And that's okay. You don't have to love every second of pregnancy to want to remember it.
This is one of the reasons I love maternity photography so much, for me, it's not just about photographing your bump. It's about photographing you.
Maternity photography in Raglan that feels like you
When you book a maternity shoot with me, you don't need to know how to pose, you don't need to be a model and you definitely don't need to know what to do in front of the camera. That's my job. I'll guide you through the session so you can relax and actually enjoy the experience. We'll walk, move, laugh, sit, connect with your partner and create beautiful portraits along the way.
I don't want your photographs to feel stiff or overly pose, I want them to feel like you.
I've photographed more than 1,000 women, and one thing I've learned is that most women are far more nervous about being photographed than they need to be.
You don't have to arrive feeling confident, I'll help you get there.

Why Raglan is perfect for maternity photography
I love photographing maternity sessions outdoors in Raglan, the ocean, black sand, green hills and wild coastline create such a beautiful backdrop, but more importantly, they give us space to move and let the session unfold naturally.
You can walk barefoot along the beach, feel the wind in your dress, laugh with your partner or simply have a quiet moment with your growing belly and it doesn't have to feel like a photoshoot, it can just feel like a beautiful afternoon celebrating this chapter of your life. And if you're travelling from Auckland or Hamilton or elsewhere in New Zealand, it's also a pretty lovely excuse to come to Raglan for the day.
What should you wear?
Please don't feel like you need to buy an entirely new wardrobe for your maternity photos, I love simple, timeless pieces that allow you and your beautiful growing body to be the focus.Flowing dresses, soft fabrics, neutral colours, beautiful textures and bare feet all photograph beautifully.
But if jeans and a simple top feel more like you, wear that, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and like yourself.
And if you're not sure what to wear, I'll help you.

You don't have to love being pregnant to have beautiful photographs, there is so much pressure to absolutely adore pregnancy.
But the truth is, you might love your baby and still struggle with the changes happening to your body, you might feel beautiful one day and completely disconnected from yourself the next. Your photographs don't have to pretend pregnancy is perfect. They just need to honour your experience. Because one day you'll look back and realise how quickly this season passed. You'll remember the kicks, the excitement and the anticipation, but you might not remember exactly what it felt like to carry your baby.
That's what photographs give you.
A way to remember not just what you looked like, but who you were in this moment.
